A Canistel produces fruit almost all year and is beautiful in landscaping. The fruit is …really interesting. You need to wait for it to become “RIPE” because like a banana when it does it is VERY sweet. The flavor is much like canned pumpkin, but sweeter, and it works wonderfully in any recipe where you use bananas, zucchini, or pumpkin. However, it also makes wonderful smoothies. It’s naturally bright yellow color is an excellent compliment to mango, banana, strawberries, and I’m certain that your imagination can take it from here.
